Get set up in one sitting.

Four steps, in order, about 45 minutes start to finish. It works whether you’re setting up on your own or before a training visit with us.

Step 1 · About 20 minutes

Set up the office computer

Staff use Google Chrome on a computer; patients use the iPad. Do this step on the computer where you’ll build plans.

Open the planner in Chrome and bookmark it

From your portal, click Staff planner under Launch TreatPath, or go to app.gettreatpath.com/planner. Bookmark it; you’ll stay logged in.

Create your administrator and PIN

The first time in, TreatPath asks for your practice’s administrator, usually the doctor or office manager, with a personal 6-digit PIN. The administrator can reset anyone’s PIN later, so nobody gets locked out.

Take the settings tour

Click Dashboard ↗ at the top of the planner. The setup checklist at the top starts a 3-minute tour of the settings your practice needs.

Save your practice name and practice email

In Settings → Your practice. Patients see the name on every plan. The email matters too: patients can’t be emailed a copy of their plan until it’s saved, and their replies go to it.

Confirm your financing terms

Patients read these on every plan. If you leave them blank, patients see 0% APR for up to 24 months, so change them if that isn’t what you offer.

Add your team

Settings → Your team. Add everyone who presents plans. Each person gets their own PIN, and the dashboard shows how each presenter’s plans do.

Step 2 · About 5 minutes

Set up the iPad

Any iPad on a current version of iPadOS, with an internet connection. There’s no app to install.

Open your patient link and add it to the home screen

In the planner, click ⚙️ Settings and copy the iPad URL (it’s also in your portal under Launch TreatPath). Open it in Safari on the iPad, then tap Share → Add to Home Screen.

Pair the iPad Optional

In Settings → iPads, any team member signed in with their PIN can click Pair an iPad. Enter the 6-digit code on the iPad under Pair this iPad. After that, staff open today’s plans on it with their PIN instead of typing a code.

Step 3 · About 15 minutes

Practice on your own

Nothing here counts in your numbers, so try everything.

Send a practice plan

In the planner, click 🎓 New to TreatPath? Practice with a sample plan. It walks through a full plan with sample data and never counts in your analytics.

Open it on the iPad and sign it yourself

Type the plan’s 6-digit code on the iPad (or use Staff sign-in on a paired iPad) and go through it as a patient would. This is the best way to know what your patients will see.

Capture a plan from your practice software

With a real plan open in your practice software, click Capture from screen and draw a box around the plan’s table. On a Mac, allow Screen Recording for Chrome the first time. Details in the setup guide.

Step 4 · With your first patient

Present to a patient

Decide: every plan goes through TreatPath

Pick a dollar amount and have every presenter send every plan above it through TreatPath. The dashboard only counts plans presented here, so plans on paper leave your numbers incomplete.

Present your first plan to a patient

Capture the plan, check the three options, click Send to iPad, open it on the iPad and hand it over. The planner’s last screen shows where every plan from today stands.

Check the dashboard at the end of the day

Signed, Unsigned and Archived plans are split into tabs, and each row’s ⋯ menu has everything else. Questions? Ask Ask TreatPath, the assistant in the dashboard.
